**What are "socks poppetjes for prayer"?**
"Socks poppetjes" are stuffed dolls made of socks. Such dolls are very popular in Taiwan. Therefore I conceived of a series of such dolls of rather weird modelings. Also I made them for a specific use - prayer. All these socks poppetjes are made into pairs and all of them wear a cross. The cross is actually an earring, which can be easily taken off or changed to whatever you like. All these dolls are made in Fata'an, an eastern Taiwan aboriginal village the most residents of which are Christians. They also bear a simple hand-written tag. On the one side it marks "made in Fata'an" and on the other "sapitolon," which means, in the local Austronesian language "to be used for prayer."
The socks poppetjes you see here are named SPORTSWEAR because of their outfit. Both wear a same shiny navy bow and a cross styled as made of old ivory.
One of them is in one piece (total length 18cm) and another one wear a pullover sweater (total length 21cm).
The shorter one is hangable (see picture) and the taller one can stand by itself.
In principle I do not like to tear a couple apart and wish to sell them as a pair. But if you really want to purchase only one of them, you can contact me for the possibility. The long-antenna one is quite a nice toy for children or it can be a cute hanging decoration (I can make it into a hangable one, if you so request).
