2016 SS Collection Concept
"Fashion" has been regarded as a product of the West, but in the East 5,000 years of history, we have always had their own fashion system, according to different historical social background and development trend of the times at different times different. The difference is that Western clothing history to modern evolution over time, but the structure and system of oriental clothing has gradually been replaced by Tailor in the 20th century, with our daily wear no relationship.
2016 spring and summer is the beginning of an interesting hypothesis, assuming that the Eastern world has never been tailor clothing substituted? Legend has it that all the way from the East towards Tang Zhaohan clothing, in the modern globalized, digitized society will react sociocultural nowadays? Suppose Oriental popular system could have been the evolution of the traditional structure of the clothing will be affected by how the trend holds many lessons?
Today's society has been described is digital era, we trying to "DIGITAL REVOLUTION" as our first experiment, digitally reconstructed traditional ornamentation techniques, reshaping the contours of today's popular traditional cloth stitching, innovative fabrics reproduce traditional Orient clothing lines.
Hope this series as a starting point, let the oriental traditional costume revived in contemporary epidemic.
Fashion is usually considered as a western thing. But actually in the 5000 years of Chinese culture, we have also our own fashion history, which shows very different trends and styles according to different social / cultural status, same as European costume history. The main difference is, European costume continues to develop and evolve into modern age, but Chinese costume is dead after western fashion entered and replaced our traditional style in 20th century.
In SS2016 collection, we would like to play with a hypothetical concept:
What if there was not a total replacement with western fashion in oriental world? What would Chinese costume system adapts to the 21st century world and reflect the cultural influence of this globalized and digital age?
I'd like to take Chinese costume as a living system, which evolves along with modern society and might be influenced by on going fashion trends. Since today's world is considered a digital age, we'd like to take DIGITAL REVOLUTION as our first experiment , uniting digital composition and traditional motifs, remaking modern street style with traditional fabric patches, and rebuilding traditional silhouette with unconventional materials. Seeing this collection as a start, we wish to trigger the act that gradually brings Oriental costume heritage back alive.
