Introduction to Chang Yu
Chang Yu (1901 - 1966) was a famous French painter born in Sichuan, China. He was known as "The Maurice of the East" and "Modigliani of China." "Chrysanthemum" and "Four Naked Women" are listed as important cultural assets of the Republic of China. Chang Yu's oil painting “The Five Naked Lady” was sold at a high price of 128 million Hong Kong dollars (512 million Taiwan dollars) at a spring auction held in Hong Kong in 2011, breaking the Chinese artist’s auction record.
