*Story I have been thinking about making utensils for a while. The dilemma I had was the materials I need to use. I have been experimenting and try to use them myself, and there's a chance coming in. A store from South Carolina contacted with me and wanted my utensils in their shop. So I decided just go ahead and make some utensils. *Size: Big- 6.6x5.2 cm diameter, 24.5cm long Medium - 5.5x4.3cm diameter, 19.8cm long Small - 4.2 x3.4 cm diameter, 16.2 cm long The images below are my hand with different size of spoons: -Big https://c2.staticflickr.com/2/1785/43488685252_9dc9088b3f_b.jpg -Medium https://c2.staticflickr.com/2/1781/43488685192_7932c764b7_b.jpg -Small https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/918/43488685122_348358a554_b.jpg *Material: Copper * About Copper Copper is a stable material. However, copper likes to react with oxygen. It will create brow/black residue, especially where you have been touching. You can check the picture below. On the right side is the spoon just got polished and the right side is the same spoon after few days. The handle got darker at where I touched the most. There's really no easy way to prevent this from happening. The only thing I can say is to embrace it or clean it up when you feel like to. Sometimes there will be surprise for the oxidization. If you want to clean up the brown/ black oxidation, there are some ways on the internet. Also, there's no problem to have food with copper utensils, but if you have concern, please use the utensil for dry food or spice. Small tip: wipe the water off after you wash the utensils. https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/842/28643341927_91933fa914_b.jpg *The color of the copper tend to be darker after few days of polishing. So the products you receive might look darker than the pictures. * I use cutting board wax to seal the utensils. The wax is edible. If you have concern, I suggest you wipe it off before you use the utensil. * All of these products in this shop are handmade. I am not a machine. Sometimes the products might come out a little bit different such as the depth of the stamp might be different. I will do my best to make all the products look just like photos. That is my commitment.
