Moming QiweiThe original intention is to share the ink art creation of Mr. Hong Genshen, a post-Taiwan modern ink art calligrapher and painter.
Hong Genshen, post-Taiwan modern ink art calligrapher and painter, honorary professor of the Fine Arts Department of National Kaohsiung Normal University, artist in residence at the Buddha Memorial Hall, not only shows his personal style in the field of art but also pioneers new thinking, respects the ancients as a teacher but does not stick to it, he not only paints , also wrote poems and copied scriptures. He has strong emotions for people, things and things in his life, creating his unique style. He once said: "In this life, I only want to be an artist. If you can do one thing well in your life, that's enough."
There are very few painters in ancient and modern China and abroad. They paint and copy scriptures at the same time. It is hard to imagine the combination of unrestrained artists and calligraphers who devote themselves to worshiping Buddhism. Tobacco, alcohol and coffee are always with me. His eldest son is a devout Buddhist and a long-term vegetarian. In 2005, Hong Genshen's father-in-law passed away, and the elder son meditated on the mantra. Hong Genshen asked his son deeply, "What can I help?"
"You can copy the scriptures and give back." The son replied.
In the eyes of the son, the father is a deceitful and uninhibited person who has no special belief in religion, and it is impossible to put down his body and copy the scriptures. But at the moment, Hong Genshen really began to copy scriptures by hand, and he never stopped. Copying scriptures became a daily homework. By 2013, he had copied 108 volumes of scriptures with more than one million words, all of which were written with a lower-case brush.
The origin of Hong Genshen's copying of scriptures began with the "Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva's Fundamental Vows Sutra", and Hong Genshen's practice of copying scriptures has not stopped until now. Hong Genshen vowed to transcribe 600 volumes of the "Maha Prajna Sutra", and the total number of copies has now reached 3,600. He hopes that this homework will continue, and both practice and art will become more sophisticated.
