With the cityscape in the background there walks a woman, confident and free from
constraint - contemplating feelings that her linen dress suggests. The fabric that
touches her body tells her about those days when a man and nature worked hand
in hand. It comforts her passing by chaotic, homogeneous everyday scenes.
This is the story of us. We seek to create sartorial elegance in simplicity and humble
yet sincere return to innate values of human culture. Linen is our tool. Poetry is our
language.
“Linen presents its own temperament, for it is capricious and unpredictable” – MOTUMO
designer Eglė describes the material she has been befriending from the very childhood,
when barefoot she was running through blue flax fields in the Northern Lithuania - the
part of the country where linen tradition is embedded in culture of its people.
From the very early age Eglė has foreseen the unexplored potential of linen - the
capacity of the material to meet everchanging requirements of a woman in urban
environments. She has been exploring and learning techniques and specialities of this
peculiar material in two Bachelor studies, that of Costume and Textile design, after which
years of design work in the oldest native flax mill followed.
MOTUMO is saturated with those dreams, anticipations, explorations and knowledge,
that, in turn, manifests in innovative and resolved yet delicate and unexpected design
solutions. Likewise, local materials of the best quality and experienced caring team
