In 2008, the Taitung Branch of the Tea Industry Improvement Station, Luye tea farmers, and tea makers jointly developed the "Red Oolong" tea-making process. The oolong tea making process is combined with the fermentation of black tea to become a unique tea making technique, creating the perfection of red oolong. The original tea-making technology helped Luye break through the difficulties of the tea-growing areas in the middle and low altitudes and successfully revive the pure land tea town in the south of the valley.
In 2020, a new generation of young farmers and tea masters joined hands to organize the "Red Oolong Cooperative" to promote this best gift from God to their hometown to the world stage and become the pride of Taiwan.
