Sandwishes Studio

Sandwishes Studio is based in Taiwan. We started with three core members and presented ourselves as the artist-in-residence at the Happy Mount, an institution for people with intellectual/cognitive disabilities in 2011. Our practice has centered on community collaboration through the use of interdisciplinary and creative art and design. Since then, we have worked with many public welfare, non-profit social agencies and disability rights organizations. Our philosophy focuses on how to engage art as an agent to create social change and to challenge stereotypes about stigmatized minority groups. We believe in grassroots and long-term collaboration and we see our participation in advocacy and social justice movements as the essences to our art practice.
